Between McBroom, Lang and Anderson, it seems to have been fairly influential in its day.

I need to check the reference, but I seem to recollect that it was in “The Bible or the Church” in which he also recommended Isaac Taylor’s “Ancient Christianity” as a strong antidote to the Tractatian Movement of those days.
