No, he wasn't. H G Moss was born on 5 Nov 1882 at Bethnal Green and died 18 Jun 1961 at Hornchurch. He was the father of Herbert 'Bert' Walter Moss, of Bromley, one of the four editors of the 1978 Spiritual Songs (and grandfather of Bernard Moss, whom you will have seen at Catford). Hugh Clark will have known him.
