Letter to Wreford?

by Henry Craik

1 pages.

Transcript:

PS. Do you yourself believe that Mr. Newton is to be placed in the same category with Socinians?

When we were charged with holding Mr Newtons views, our disapproval of the Tracts was then publicly stated before the body.

But soundness in the faith, & consistent walk, not agreement in denunciation of the tracts, must ever be the terms of communion.

Yours affy

HC.

Henry Craik died in 1866. Heyman Wreford was born in 1850. Was a mere youth corresponding with Mr Craik on these controverted matters?

Samko, who says it was Heyman Wreford and not his father Samuel or another?

@Nick Fleet, I was just noticing a probable difficulty with the tentative title of the post if it were to refer to the well known Heyman Wreford. About Samuel Wreford I know nothing. What is known of him? Where’s the body of this letter , of which we see only the PS?
