Edward Kennaway Groves

Where does the Kennaway come from for Edward?? Edward Cronin married a Kennaway.

Sir John Kennaway (1758-1836) was an army officer in the East India Company and, being fluent in Persian, a successful diplomatist. Returning from India in 1794, he bought Escott House, Ottery St Mary, near Exeter, and married Charlotte Amyatt. Like Sir Thomas Acland, and Major General Edward Baynes, he was a respected Devonian and a devout Anglican who welcomed Anthony Norris Groves into his home and, although he remained an Anglican, clearly was connected with some of the early Devon brethren. His daughters Maria and Frances married Frank Newman and Edward Cronin respectively in 1835 and 1838.
