This is a tricky one; According to the death record, she was 72 which would put her birth year around 1834, but that would make her 15 years older than her husband. But according to the 1901 census she was born around 1841 and the 1891 census suggest around 1846. The 1901 census also has a note that she is 'feeble-minded'. To complicate it more the only relevant birth record would be around 1829! Disappointingly I can't see any links to the well known J.S. Oliphant. If anyone can clear any of this up, please let us know!
