Thank you very much! How refreshing to find these splendid hymns sung with affection and reverence. The harmonies are lovely and the pace is pleasantly brisk. I'd love to know more about the project of recording these hymns…

Thanks for the feedback Bos.

My project was to obtain recordings of singing for all 500 hymns using the tunes set in the music edition. The purpose was to help the many brethren who have come to English speaking countries from backgrounds where they were not familiar with the tunes.

Although the project is now "complete", the usual character of the singing at the Castlewellan Conference provides a good opportunity to replace some of the existing recordings for which things aren't quite right with the timing, accuracy, tunefulness, recording quality, etc.

Tom has access to all the recordings I have collated but some are not suitable for publishing on the website. If you'd like to know more, he can give you my email address.

Yeah I have uploaded recordings for all but 1 of the 500 hymns in the book now, so have taken a pause on this. Over time I will probably add a few more recordings where available, especially with alternate, or more traditional tunes.
The Castlewellan recordings are among the best and personally I prefer the "pleasantly brisk" pace to the more mundane slow one we often sing at!

Hymn 22 is not to 'St Catherine' - I know brethren can usually fit any tune to any hymn with a bit of tweaking and tucking but I think that combination would be nigh impossible to achieve ;-)

I much appreciate the dedication effort in assembling the tunes for assembly singing of the blessed hymns in the Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs. It is a great asset for small assemblies to add optional tunes by meter.
Is there available a complete such compilation for all 500 hymns? (perhaps with piano or organ accompaniment.

There was a website in recent years that I had in my computer which did this but was suddenly removed. I greatly miss it. Much obliged! ( Our assembly is in Winnipeg Manitoba, We are only 4 gathered unto Christ's only worthy Name in this city. One other family 100 miles away is also gathered).
