Do you have access to his later booklet The Step I have taken in which he explained his reasons for 'taking his place with Brethren'?  Your list of his works seems to be missing this key item.   It would be interesting to know who were the 'brethren' staying at the same Pension in Veytaux, Switzerland, who 'helped to clear in his mind certain difficulties that he had'.  Timothy Stunt.
